Ball and Claw Foot
The ball and claw foot is seen on Chippendale furniture. The foot is carved on authentic antique Chippendale pieces. However, today some of the ball and claw feet are “pressed” on reproductions.
The ball and claw foot design used by Thomas Chippendale was adapted from the Chinese design that represented a bird foot holding an egg.
